The Sangen Principle

As mentioned previously, it is important to take immediate action by observing the problem in person rather than only thinking at your desk.

The 3 principle theory (Sangen Principle) is the best procedure for taking the right action to achieve long-lasting results.

  1. Visit the actual site (shopfloor/Genba) and observe the real condition of the problem

  2. Touch (if it is safe to do so) the actual article/thing with your hands

  3. Observe the actual mechanism and compare what you observe to what it should be

Our JMAC TPM Consultants incorporate Genba visits to help clients work through any issues that may arise while implementing TPM.

It is important to remember that spending time observing problems in the Genba can save you time and resources in the long run.

We hope you can make good use of the Sangen Principle.
